untMr. Colwell is a 1985 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Midland and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Geographic Information Systems from the University of North Texas. He currently works for Concho Resources Inc. as its Business Development Land Manager. Prior to joining Concho, Paul was the Director of Business Development & Land for Whiting Petroleum Corporation, carrying out land responsibilities for Southeast New Mexico, West Texas, and the Texas/Oklahoma Panhandle. Paul also worked for Petro-Hunt supervising Permian Basin activities. In addition to serving on the PBLA board, Paul serves on the board of directors of both the Permian Basin Petroleum Association (PBPA) and Midland Crime Stoppers; and served on the Advisory Board for the 2010 Executive Oil Conference and was recently named to the Permian Basin Carbon Capture & Storage Advisory Board. Paul is a Certified Professional Landman and member of the AAPL, New Mexico Oil & Gas Association (NMOGA), Midland Business Development Leadership Group (MBDLG) and the Forum for Exploration Production and Acquisitions (FEPA). Paul and Sherry, his wife of fifteen years, have two children; Luke and Harper and are members of First United Methodist Church of Midland.
