Landman- Title Abstractor

Purple Land Management is currently seeking experienced Title Abstractors to join our team in Midland, TX! This position will research title to determine the surface and mineral ownership of a piece of property in order to prepare for possible oil and natural gas production in the area where the property is located. Qualified candidates must possess prior title research experience and be local to the Midland area.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Research county records to determine surface and mineral ownership
  • Review county records using online databases or travel to the local county courthouse to review county records
  • Analyze and research results to select the relevant information to input into reports and databases for submission to the client

Requirements:

  • Prior title research experience, Permian experience preferred
  • Local to the project area
  • Bachelor’s degree, or JD preferred
  • AAPL membership preferred

Entry-Level Landman

Purple Land Management is currently seeking self-motivated individuals to join our team as entry-level abstractors in our Midland, TX office! The primary job function of this position is to research county records to determine the surface and mineral ownership of a piece of property in order to prepare for possible oil and natural gas production in the area where the property is located. A title abstractor may review county records using online databases, or travel to the local county courthouse. Following the initial research phase, an abstractor analyzes the research results to select the relevant information and inputs that information into reports and databases to be submitted to PLM’s clients. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and be local to the Midland area.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Follow all company policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook
  • Research county records to determine surface and mineral ownership
  • Review county records using online databases or travel to the local county courthouse to review county records
  • Analyze and research results to select the relevant information to input into reports and databases for submission to the client
  • Other duties as assigned by management and determined by business needs

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, JD preferred
  • Ability to meet specific deadlines, daily and weekly, based on current internal and client needs
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management and clients (in writing and verbally)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically Excel and Word
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat
