Job: RSP Permian, L.L.C. is currently seeking a Lease Analyst for our Midland office with the following experience:

 

The Lease Analyst reviews, interprets, and processes the various Land-related contracts such as leases, deeds, joint operating agreements, assignments, trade agreements, right-of-ways, etc. The individual will input and/or edit the data in the property records system utilized in maintaining the company assets as well as document and cross-reference any related information. In processing and maintaining the data, the individual will review and interpret title and ownership information and coordinate with the Land Department as to lease and payment obligations, title queries, expirations, significant deadlines, and owner inquiries.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze the accuracy of lease and deed information, provision leases, set up payment obligations
  • Determine that acreage is properly accounted for in the system
  • Ensure payment information for leases and various contracts is accurate in the system and payments are made and documented in a timely manner
  • Setup various contracts including but not limited to: leases, deeds, assignments, JOAs, letter agreements, right-of-ways, and DPUs
  • Balance unit leasehold with DOI at the time of production
  • Evaluate monthly expiration reports and enter updates into the system database to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the leasehold
  • Review special obligation reports to ensure all obligations are being met and update the records accordingly
  • Review and circulate monthly rental reports to ensure that rental payments are accurate and made timely
  • Review transfer documentation and title information to ensure the correct mineral and leasehold ownership is reflected in the system
  • Complete various quality control checks to ensure the lease and contract records are accurate and up-to-date
  • Research and coordinate special projects relating to lease and contract records for various departments
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 4+ years of professional oil and gas experience
  • Proficient in computer applications necessary to perform work primarily in Excel and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

The Director is responsible for coordinating PDC’s acquisition, divestiture, and business development processes and maintaining and developing numerous business development contacts within the E&P industry. 1. Assumes a key role in seeking, prioritizing, and developing acquisition and business development opportunities for PDC including producing assets, leasehold additions, and potential acreage trades;
2. Pursues a highly proactive approach in sourcing deals initially focused in PDC’s core areas – the Delaware Basin and Wattenberg Field;
3. Continually stays in the deal flow through frequent communications with A&D advisors, E&P companies and investment banks and prepares lists of prioritized acquisition targets;
4. Assists PDC leadership in determining the role and impact of transactions on the company’s annual and long term business plans;
5. Collaborates with reservoir engineering, operations, and geology to identify and evaluate new basins to target for future exploration and production activities;
6. Coordinates overarching efforts to ensure a detailed evaluation of potential land acquisitions which includes partnering with many internal teams to gather detailed economic analysis, as well as operational, reservoir, technical, commercial, and EHS analysis;
7. Works with strategic planning, finance and accounting teams to determine corporate impacts of target acquisition;
8. Works closely with all departments on successful acquisitions to ensure a smooth transition and integration of assets into the PDC organization;
9. Supports negotiation strategies including support of various legal transaction documents;
10. Identifies potential risks, and potential mitigation of risks, related to business development projects.
